BurpMeter ("we," "our," or "us") is a casual entertainment app that allows users to record burps, receive scores, and compete on leaderboards. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use BurpMeter.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Username — a display name you choose during registration
• Country — your country of residence, selected during registration

Information Collected Automatically

• Burp metadata — score, duration, volume level, and peak count from each recording session
• Device information — basic device type for analytics and advertising purposes
• Advertising ID — your device's advertising identifier, used by Google AdMob to serve relevant ads

3. Microphone Permission

BurpMeter requires access to your device's microphone to record and analyze burps. We only access the microphone when you actively tap the record button. Microphone access is never used in the background.

4. How We Use Your Information

• Display your scores and rankings on the leaderboard
• Calculate and track your personal best scores
• Improve the app's scoring accuracy and performance
• Display country-based leaderboards
• Serve advertisements through Google AdMob

5. Data Storage

Your username, country, and burp metadata (scores only — no audio) are stored securely using Supabase, a third-party database provider. Data is stored on servers located in the European Union.

6. Advertising

BurpMeter is a free app supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob to display ads within the app.

Users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be shown a consent prompt before any personalized advertising is displayed, in compliance with GDPR.

You may opt out of personalized ads at any time through your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → disable tracking

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

• Google AdMob — for serving advertisements (see Section 6)
• Supabase — for database services
• Legal requirements — if required by law or court order

8. Children's Privacy

BurpMeter is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it. AdMob is configured to not serve personalized ads to users under 13.

9. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as you use the app. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
